EarthLink’s nationwide partner-network model
EarthLink doesn’t own its own last-mile network outside select markets. Instead, EarthLink resells access over partner networks — including AT&T fiber, Frontier fiber, and various cable plant — under the EarthLink brand with EarthLink’s privacy-focused service tier.
The trade-offs are real and worth understanding: at addresses where the underlying network is fiber, EarthLink’s product is roughly equivalent to direct service. At addresses served only by older copper or limited cable plant, EarthLink can be one of the few options available — but the speeds and pricing reflect the underlying network, not EarthLink’s branding. We’re transparent about which network EarthLink would actually deliver at your address.

EarthLink markets a privacy-first service that doesn’t monetize browsing data the way some major carriers do. The privacy posture is meaningful at the policy level, though the underlying partner network may have its own data practices. EarthLink’s privacy policy is the source of truth.
Does EarthLink offer fixed wireless or 5G home internet?
Yes. EarthLink Wireless Home Internet uses fixed wireless to reach addresses that don’t have wired broadband options, particularly in rural markets. Speeds are lower than fiber but the service can be available where wired alternatives aren’t.
