In context
Ziply’s Pacific Northwest fiber buildout
Ziply Fiber acquired Frontier’s Northwest properties in 2020 and committed to converting the legacy copper footprint to XGS-PON fiber. Five years in, Ziply has fiber-passed well over a million addresses across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana — including small towns most national carriers skip.
For consumers Ziply’s pricing structure is unusually simple: no AutoPay requirement, no separate equipment rental on the entry-level plans, and a 10 Gig residential tier that reaches actual homes (not just headquarters announcements). The catch is the footprint — Ziply only operates in the PNW, so this option only matters if your address is in their service area.
Common questions
FAQs
Is Ziply’s 10 Gig residential plan really 10 Gig?
Yes — Ziply delivers 10 Gig symmetrical to the home over XGS-PON fiber. Realizing the full 10 Gig speed requires 10G-capable router and devices; standard Wi-Fi 6 routers cap out around 1–2 Gig wireless throughput.
Does Ziply require AutoPay for the advertised price?
No. Unlike most providers in our lineup, Ziply’s advertised starting prices apply whether or not you enroll in AutoPay.
I have Ziply DSL — when will fiber reach my address?
Ziply publishes fiber availability quarterly. We can run your address against the current map and tell you whether fiber is live, scheduled, or not yet planned. If you’re still on DSL we’ll let you know honestly rather than upselling you to a service you can’t get.
