Hawaiian Telcom (HT) is Hawaii’s incumbent local exchange carrier, dating back to 1883. HT operates a GPON and XGS-PON fiber network that’s been progressively replacing the legacy copper footprint across the major islands, with Honolulu and the urban Oahu corridor seeing the densest deployment.
Coverage is uneven by island and even by neighborhood: parts of Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island have full fiber availability, while more rural areas may still be on copper-based DSL or no Hawaiian Telcom service at all. We confirm availability island-by-island before quoting — it’s the only way to be honest about what’s actually deployable at your address.

Is local installation included?
Hawaiian Telcom includes professional installation on most fiber plans, performed by HT’s own technicians (not subcontracted from the mainland). Self-install is available on select plans for an additional discount.
